Morris rolls past Tinley Park 70-0 in Class 5A first-round playoff game — Geneva Arts news

Morris opened its Class 5A postseason with a statement Friday night, overwhelming Tinley Park 70-0 in the first round behind a dominant performance in all phases. The Warriors (10-0) wasted little time establishing control, building a 56-0 lead before halftime and turning their playoff opener into a running-clock affair. Warriors junior quarterback Marion Persich, who transferred to Morris from La Salle-Peru this season, completed 9 of 10 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns in his playoff debut. He also rushed five times for 36 yards before being pulled late in the second quarter.“Definitely feels good,” Persich said about winning his first career playoff game. “It’s definitely a different feeling going from 3-6 my freshman year, 2-7 my sophomore year to winning my first playoff game by 70 points.”Persich had plenty of help from senior Logan Conroy, who made his presence felt in all three phases. Conroy totaled just 25 yards from scrimmage but found the end zone twice, scoring once
