Around 2:15 p.m., officers responded to the "1500 block of N. Winslowe Drive after receiving a report of a male physically assaulting a female," according to police. They reportedly left the area in a Nissan Sentra. Officials said around 2:31 p.m., "officers received a second call reporting a disturbance in the 400 block of E. Palatine Road," where "preliminary investigative information, including surveillance video, indicates that the female exited the vehicle and ran inside a convenience store, where she asked for help. The male followed her into the store, grabbed her, and forced her back into the vehicle before leaving the area." According to Chicago police, officers pursued a wanted vehicle until it struck a pole and came to a stop in the 700 block of West Garfield Boulevard at about 4:26 p.m. Dominiak was taken into custody. The department said the suspect was unharmed when taken into custody, and no other injuries were reported.
